Program

The Competitive Archery Program ended on June 1st 2019.

Thank you for everyone who was apart of this great program over the past 5 years!

Those who came here wanting to learn about target archery should considering the following programs in the Austin Texas area that were affiliated and/or coached at the Competitive Archery Program.

Archery Training Center (South Austin)

Central Texas Archery (North Austin)

Our mission is to provide NTS training for competitive recurve and compound archers, ages 12 and up, with a focus on the individual while building on team cohesion for competition.

Who should apply?

CAP is a dedicate competitive training program. The CAP archer not only wants to compete and win but also places an intrinsic with their archery. They are able to shoot daily rather than on a weekly basis. They are a self starter and should not have to be told to practice. They are excited about change and how that will make them better in the long run.

Who should NOT apply?
People who have never shot before or have no understanding of NTS (National Training System).
If you are new to archery please inquire at Archery Training Center

All CAP archers must agree to the follow:
– Sign letter of commitment with their parents (if under 18 years old).
– Be able to shoot the entry MQS by September of 2014.1
– Able to train 6 days a week.
– Compete in tournaments on a local, state and national level.
– Have their own competition equipment.

There will only be a maximum of 18 archers in CAP. Preference will be given to those archers between 12 to 15 years old.

1 Tournament is qualified as any USA Archery sanctioned event or during CAP Monthly Tournaments, or CAP Outdoor Series by September of 2014.
2 If an archer attends all the group classes or just one it is still the same flat fee. This is designed to create a greater incentive for the competitive archers to take full advantage of the program.
3 Each CAP member is guaranteed at least one private lesson per month. Using the second lesson is dependant of the archers commitment to change. Private lessons do not roll over from month to month.
4 There will be exceptions made in the case of injury or illness at the discretion of Coach Alex.
